Fire Chief’s Message

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Commissioners and the members of the District, I would like to welcome and thank you for taking the time to view our website.

The North Palos Fire District provides fire and emergency medical services for the City of Palos Hills, Village of Worth, portions of the Cities of Hickory Hills and Palos Heights as well as a large portion of the Palos Division within the Cook County Forest Preserve District. The Fire District covers these 14 square miles with three fire stations and services a population of approximately 30,000 residents. 

Our District is proud to have obtained an Insurance Services Organization (ISO) Public Protection Classification (PPC) of 2/2X. Our members continually strive to be their best through training, education and hard work. They take a great deal of pride in delivering a high level of service and care to people in their time of need. 

Additionally, the District provides Fire Prevention, Inspectional and Public Education Services to help keep our residents and the visitors to our communities safe. We work collaboratively with our neighboring fire agencies and municipal departments such as Building, Police, and Public Works as well as our academic institutions to promote a collective approach to public safety.

Lastly this District is rich in history, one of community members helping one another. From it’s humble beginning as a volunteer organization in 1947 and the countless men and women who have served. We strive to honor and carry on this tradition.
